In cooperation with the governorate of Beirut, and as part of the campaign launched by the GCRP (The Global Campaign to Return to Palestine) to illuminate important monuments worldwide with the colors of the Palestinian flag during the week of commemorating Palestinian #LandDay (March 30th) and International Quds Day (last Friday of the Holy Month of Ramadan); the Raouche Rock in Beirut, was enlightened with the colors of the Palestinian flag, in the presence of the governor of Beirut, among other public figures.
The ceremony started with both Lebanese and Palestinian national anthems, followed by a short speech by the Governor of Beirut, Judge Marwan Abboud, who emphasized that Beirut “has always been the capital of the Palestinian Cause”, and recalled Lebanon’s role advocating for its Cause. He said that enlightening that Landmark comes as “an expression of the love of Beirut for Palestine and its people, it is to express the sanctity of the Palestinian Cause.”

 


Dr. Abdul Malek Sukkariyeh, secretary of the GCRP also spoke on behalf of the GCRP, explaining the importance of such events to keep Palestinian Cause alive in the global conscious, through daily reminders of what the crimes that the Usurping Entity is committing against “Our People” inside Palestine”. He also reminded of the role played by the members of the GCRP around the world to in solidarity with the Palestinians, demanding an end to the genocidal war on Gaza.
The event was also attended by the Ambassador of Return, Lebanese vocalist, Moein Shraif, who performed a number of his Palestinian patriotic songs amid the interaction of the audience while waving the Palestinian flags.

The illumination of the Raouche Rock symbolizes the solidarity with the Palestinian people and their struggle for self-determination. It is a reminder that the Palestinian Cause will remain alive and that the world must not forget the injustice inflicted upon the Palestinians.
