With wide participation from political, academic, and media figures from around the world, the International Conference for Solidarity with Palestine was launched in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, on November 29, 2024, under the slogan: “From Venezuela to Palestine: We Shall Survive and We Shall Triumph.”

The conference coincided with the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, reflecting the symbolic significance and importance of the event.

Opening Session of the Conference

The first day featured an opening session with welcoming speeches that emphasized the importance of global solidarity with the Palestinian cause. In addition to a photography exhibition titled “A Year of Genocide, A Year of Resistance”, documenting the crimes committed by the usurping entity against the Palestinian people, and highlighting their resilience and ongoing struggle.

 

The first day activities also included two panel discussions:

​The first session: Focused on the role of popular movements and media in strengthening solidarity with Palestine and countering the Zionist narrative.

​The second session: Discussed Zionist ideology as a colonial doctrine aiming for expansion and implementing policies of genocide and displacement.

 

Prominent Figures and Influential Speeches

The conference witnessed the presence of many prominent and influential figures, including:

​•Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro

​•Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil Pinto

​•Former European MP, and Ambassador of Return, Manuel Pineda

​•President of the Simón Bolívar Association Carlos Ron

​•General Coordinator of the Global Campaign to Return to Palestine Sheikh Yusuf Abbas

In his opening speech, Sheikh Yusuf Abbas stated:

“Our gathering today on this noble land, from all around the world, is not merely a reaffirmation of our solidarity with the Palestinian people. It is the beginning of a new phase of struggle—a phase where we continue to uphold the humanitarian values,we all believe in.”

 

President Nicolás Maduro reaffirmed Venezuela’s unwavering support for Palestine, stating:

“All of Venezuela is Palestine.”

He added:

​• “Do not believe the Zionist criminals from the Tel Aviv gang who act without accountability.”

​•Highlighting the hypocrisy of the occupation, he said: “The Islamic nations and the Arab world must beware of deceptive diplomacy; after it comes the missiles.”

​•Warning of Zionist expansion, he stated: “Today, it is Palestine and Lebanon; tomorrow, it will be Syria, Iraq, and Jordan.”

As a gesture of gratitude, the Global Campaign to Return to Palestine presented its honorary Award to President Nicolás Maduro in recognition of his efforts and unwavering support for Palestine.

Conclusion of the First Day

Participants organized a solidarity stand with Palestinian journalists and detainees, denouncing the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The stand delivered a clear message of support for the Palestinian people and opposition to the aggression.

The Second Day: Continuing the Support and Strengthening Solidarity

On the second day, participants continued the conference sessions, focusing on enhancing global efforts to support Palestine and further discussions on countering the Zionist narrative. They also visited the tomb of the late leader Hugo Chávez, paying tribute to his revolutionary legacy and his unwavering support for just causes, particularly the Palestinian cause.

This visit emphasized that Chávez’s legacy continues to inspire free nations around the world to stand for justice and truth.

From Caracas, the free people affirm that resistance is not merely a temporary reaction, but a way of life based on faith in justice, solidarity, and determination to triumph.
