The Global Campaign to Return to Palestine sent appreciation letters to both the President and to the Minister of Justice of South Africa in which it praised South Africa’s filing a lawsuit against the Zionist entity and prosecuting it before the International Court of Justice. Emphasizing the fact that this is consistent with the history of struggle in South Africa.
The campaign letters renewed their gratitude to South Africa for hosting the Fifth Global Convention of Solidarity with Palestine, which was held in Johannesburg last December.
The letter addressed the President of the Republic, “The entire Palestinian people, led by the families of the martyrs, the wounded, and the detainees, received this important legal step with great appreciation, and they expressed their gratitude by raising the South African flag and pictures of the great leader, prrsident Nelson Mandela, in public squares. Millions of activists around the world participated in this and shared Your latest words of pride”.
As stated in the campaign’s letter to the Minister of Justice: “The pleas presented by the legal team of the Republic of South Africa in the International Court of Justice, against the crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing committed by the Zionist army, and your personal position in that distinguished session, represents an important historical milestone, equal in importance and impact to the days in which the fall of the apartheid regime in South Africa was announced”.
The campaign called on South Africa to continue on its path until the Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people stops and their full stolen rights are restored.
The message was delivered to the President and the Minister, by MP Mr. Mandla Mandela, Ambassador of Return and member of the Global Campaign to Return to Palestine in South Africa.
