Many French cities have raised the Palestinian flag alongside the French flag on their municipal buildings in a gesture of solidarity and support of the Palestinian people besides remembering the martyrs of the peaceful return marches.

The flag of Palestine fluttered over the municipality building of Villeneuve Saint-Georges, expressing the city’s solidarity with the Palestinian people in its struggle to obtain its legitimate rights. The municipality of the city of Bourgogne also raised the Palestinian flag in its main square.

The French city of Cree also raised the flag of Palestine on the façade of the main municipal building with a banner reading “In Support of the Palestinian People” in French.

The same scene was repeated in the municipality of Valenton, where Mayor Françoise Baud delivered a speech expressing her sympathy and solidarity with the Palestinian people. The Balata Camp Services’ Committee and the French municipality of Valenton had signed a twinning agreement in 2015.

For its part, the town of Ville Rizzi has lowered to half-mast the Palestinian, French and EU flags following the return marches in which many Palestinians were killed and wounded, extending condolences to the victim’s families and relatives.

The town of Aulnay-sous-Bois in Seine-Saint-Denis did just the same and flew a large Palestinian flag over one of its commercial building.
