The municipal council of Arganzuela, one of the southern suburbs of the Spanish capital Madrid, has decided to name one of its parks as the Palestine Park.

The head of the Palestinian community in Madrid, Jamil Abu Saada, said that a sign with “Palestine Park” on it will be placed at the park entrance.

On January 1 an olive tree will be planted as a symbol of Palestine and peace.
