Gaza awoke on Tuesday night to the sounds of bombing and explosions, marking the end of a fragile truce that lasted only briefly. The usurping entity resumed its bombardment of the besieged enclave, targeting homes and civilian facilities.
Within these few hours, more than 400 martyrs fell, the majority of whom were women and children, in one of the most brutal assaults since the aggression began. The scenes were harrowing: entire families buried under rubble, children searching for their parents amid the debris, and hospitals overwhelmed with the wounded—hospitals already suffering from severe shortages of medical supplies.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, the death toll since the beginning of the aggression in October 2023 has risen to 48,981 martyrs, with an additional 112,603 injured.
Despite the relentless bombardment and devastation, the people of Gaza remain steadfast, holding firmly to their land and rights. In every corner of Gaza’s streets, one encounters faces bearing stories of pain and hope, hearts pulsating with determination to survive. This resilience is not new to a people accustomed to facing hardships, transforming pain into a force that drives them toward the future.
As usual, the international community sufficed with statements of condemnation and denunciation. The United Nations described the attacks as “hell on earth,” warning of an escalating humanitarian crisis in the territory. Many countries expressed their concern, while others remained hesitant, merely calling for restraint and a return to negotiations.
Amid this ongoing aggression, the question remains: How long will this international silence persist? When will global solidarity with Gaza be translated into concrete actions that end the bloodshed and break the siege of injustice? Until then, Gaza—with its sons and daughters—will remain a symbol of resilience and defiance, writing new chapters in the book of freedom and dignity with their blood.
As we approach the anniversary of Land Day, we call upon all the free people of the world to unite in the battle for truth and justice. Let us all become a resounding voice against oppression, commemorating Land Day not only in Palestine but in every capital and every heart that beats for freedom.
Let us raise the flags of Palestine in the squares and declare that the rights of the Palestinian people are not merely a local issue, but a human cause that concerns everyone who believes in justice and dignity.
This year, let us write a new chapter in history—one that bears witness to the unity of the free across the globe and reaffirms that the land watered with the blood of martyrs will remain free, despite all attempts at extermination and displacement.
