As the tragedy of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip continues, Palestinian women emerge as some of the primary victims of theaggression. Their suffering is diverse and complex, compounded by the health and humanitarian conditions the region is enduring under the strain of the ongoing genocidal war and the systematic brutal blockade imposed by the occupying entity.

The spokesperson for Gaza’s Ministry of Health, Khalil al-Daqran, explained that “pregnant women in Gaza do not have access to proper healthcare due to the widespread displacement and the absence of health centers to monitor pregnancies.”

Al-Daqran noted that many pregnant women have suffered miscarriages due to repeated bombardments, either from direct injury or due to panic, smoke inhalation, and dust from the shelling.

Myers-Gimmond, the Special Representative of UN Women in the Palestinian Territory, said a few days ago: it is stated that “30% of women face life-threatening conditions due to health circumstances. More than 100,000 women in Gaza suffer from cancer and diabetes and cannot access medical facilities, in addition to pregnant women who are unable to reach the care they need.”

Palestinian Health Minister Majed Abu Ramadan also announced a few days ago that “Israeli occupation” forces had detained over 300 medical staff members, while many hospitals were destroyed and rendered inoperable. The Israeli” bombardment caused 130 ambulances” to stop functioning, and more than 990 healthcare workers, including doctors, specialists, nurses, allied health professionals, administrators, and paramedics, have been lost since the beginning of the aggression on Gaza.

In light of these crimes being committed by the occupying entity against Palestinian women, the question arises: Where are the organizations concerned with women’s rights? And where are international health and humanitarian organizations in the face of these massacres and health atrocities being perpetrated by the occupying entity?!!
