Amid the ongoing genocide committed by the occupying entity against our Palestinian and Lebanese people, as the cries of the innocent grow louder, the health sector is subjected to systematic destruction, aiming to break the determination of these peoples.

Palestinian Red Crescent spokesperson Ahmad Jibril reported that “three paramedics from the Red Crescent teams were injured by live ammunition after being deliberately targeted by occupation soldiers, despite prior coordination through the International Committee of the Red Cross, during their attempt to evacuate several casualties in the Balata refugee camp. In addition, four citizens were injured by bullets and shrapnel.”

Jibril added, “He received a report of injuries inside a house in the Harat al-Hashashīn area, and that occupation forces prevented the ambulance teams from reaching the site.”

In Gaza, Palestinian Health Minister Majed Abu Ramadan announced several days ago that occupation forces had also arrested over 300 medical personnel, while many hospitals were destroyed and taken out of service. The “Israeli” bombardment caused 130 ambulances to stop working. Abu Ramadan stated that Palestine had lost over 990 healthcare workers since the start of the aggression on Gaza, including doctors, specialists, nurses, support medical staff, administrative workers, and paramedics.

In Lebanon, the same scene as Gaza is being repeated, as the occupation targets ambulance teams to terrorize civilians and cut off any means of treating the wounded.

The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, declared that “Lebanese hospitals are overwhelmed due to the large number of casualties, and the country’s health system is struggling to cope with the situation.”

These unprecedented humanitarian and health disasters in Gaza and Lebanon confirm that the occupying entity follows a policy of destroying the health sector and hospitals, choking civilians, and destroying the morale of innocent populations, while disregarding all international and humanitarian laws such as the Geneva Conventions and their additional protocols, which stipulate the protection of patients, the wounded, and medical teams, and prohibit their targeting under any circumstances.
