Despite the occupying entity’s restrictions on Palestinians, and preventing them from reaching al Aqsa Mosque, according to the Jerusalem Endowments Department, eighty thousand worshippers performed the first Friday prayer of Ramadan at the blessed al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
Thousands of worshippers were prevented by the occupying entity from reaching al Aqsa Mosque to perform Friday prayers, deploying its forces in the alleys of the Old City and near the mosque’s perimeter.
Sheikh Ikrimah Sabri, Khatib of al-Aqsa mosque in his Seremon at the Friday Prayers of today, said: “There is no room for compromise on al Aqsa, nor for relinquishing even a grain of its soil. It is unfortunate to see what is happening in Gaza and not find anyone to stop it or stand up for its people.”
Sheikh Sabri continued, “al Aqsa is too sacred to be ruled by international laws, and will remain open no matter what happens.” He confirmed that the occupying entity has taken strict measures around al Aqsa and has placed it in a war atmosphere for months.
At the end of Friday prayers, the worshippers performed the absentee prayer for the souls of the martyrs who fell as a result of the occupying entity’s aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Since the outbreak of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the occupation police have closed all checkpoints around Jerusalem and in the face of the residents of the West Bank.
