Amid the ongoing assault on Gaza, the usurping entity and its settlers continue an unprecedented escalation in the occupied West Bank and Al-Quds, through daily raids, widespread demolitions and land leveling, and systematic attacks on the people—resulting in martyrdom, injuries, and the forced displacement of hundreds of Palestinians.
Military Escalation and Brutal Raids
Cities in the West Bank—particularly Nablus, Jenin, and Tulkarm—have witnessed repeated military incursions, accompanied by the arrest of activists and journalists, and clashes with Palestinian youth. In Jenin, 15-year-old Rayan Tamer Houshiya was shot and killed by the usurping entity’s forces, as occupation troops transformed several homes into military outposts amid sweeping arrests.
Tulkarm has seen the most violent escalation in months, with a military siege on the city and its two refugee camps lasting over 150 consecutive days. Over the span of two weeks, more than 50 buildings were demolished as part of a campaign aiming to empty the camps through a policy of forced displacement.
Homes Turned into Military Outposts
In a dangerous development, the usurping entity has intensified its policy of forcibly turning Palestinian homes into military outposts. In Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya near Nablus, and in Hizma near Al-Quds, occupation forces seized private homes, forcibly evicted families, and reportedly looted personal belongings, in a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
Surge in Demolitions and Land Confiscations
Simultaneously, occupation bulldozers continue demolishing Palestinian homes across the West Bank under the pretext of “unlicensed construction,” even though Usurping entity’s authorities impose near-impossible conditions for Palestinians to obtain building permits. In Salfit, a nursery farm was razed; in Ramallah, large swathes of farmland were confiscated to expand settlements.
Bethlehem saw the uprooting of dozens of olive trees, while in Hebron, entire communities were displaced following the demolition of a residential area in Masafer Yatta. UN reports indicate that over 680 Palestinian structures have been demolished since the start of 2025, doubling the number of displaced persons compared to last year.
In occupied Al-Quds alone, more than 620 homes and structures have been demolished since October 2023. Palestinian residents are often forced to demolish their own homes to avoid exorbitant fines, while only 2% of building permit requests from Palestinians are approved.
The killing of 66-year-old Zahia Al-Obaidi, shot in front of her home in Shu’fat refugee camp, stirred widespread outrage, especially since the elderly woman posed no threat.
Settler Terrorism: The Second Arm of Occupation
Alongside military aggression, settler terrorism has sharply escalated. In one of the deadliest attacks, dozens of armed settlers stormed the town of Kafr Malik east of Ramallah, killing three Palestinians, injuring seven others, and setting homes and vehicles ablaze—all under the protection of occupation forces.
Settlers also uprooted around 150 olive saplings near the village of Susiya, south of Hebron.
Human rights organizations have documented a wave of settler assaults including land leveling, crop poisoning, well destruction, tree uprooting, and illegal fencing in the Jordan Valley and elsewhere. UN data shows that, within two weeks, 58 Palestinians were injured and 67 displaced as a result of settler violence, which is increasingly seen as a state-sanctioned policy of terror.
Staggering Numbers and Urgent Calls for International Protection
Between October 7, 2023, and the end of June 2025, 981 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank and Al-Quds, around 7,000 were injured, and over 17,500 were detained—many of them are women and children—in an unprecedented campaign of repression.
UN reports warn that the occupation’s demolition and displacement practices may amount to “ethnic cleansing,” with growing fears of a broader explosion if the international community fails to intervene and hold the perpetrators accountable.
In this grim reality, Palestinians in the West Bank and Al-Quds face a daily warzone of raids, gunfire, destruction, and mass displacements, as both soldiers and settlers commit widespread violence with impunity. Without decisive international action, the region risks spiraling into deeper instability—further eroding hopes for justice, peace, and an end to decades of occupation.
