The Global Campaign to Return to Palestine, represented by its member in Kuwait, Dr. Abdullah Al-Moussawi, honored the Kuwaiti judo champion Habib Al-Sabti, with AL Quds Golden Medal, after he was unable to attend the International Forum to Honor anti-Normalization Athletes, which was held by the campaign in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, earlier this year, to honor the athletes who threw their matches in international and regional tournaments to protest the presence of Israeli players or teams.

Kuwaiti judo player Habib Al-Sabti was one of these heroes. He withdrew from the Rome International Judo Championship in 2019, due to the participation of 3 Zionist players in the same category. But for some reasons, he was unable to personally attend the forum and be honored alongside the Algerian judo player Fathi Noureen, the Jordanian Muhammad Wasfi Eid and other champions.

From here, Dr. Abdullah Al-Musawi honored the hero player in Kuwait and said in this context: “In the name of the Global Campaign to Return to Palestine, we are glad to honor the Kuwaiti hero, Captain Habib Al-Sabti, who withdrew from facing a player from the Zionist entity. We are proud of you, “Abu Abbas”.

In his turn, Al-Sabti thanked the Global Campaign to Return to Palestine for its distinguished initiative toward the athletes against normalization and said: “What the global campaign is doing is a matter of pride, and I thank them and apologize for not being able to attend the honoring ceremony. What I have done is a simple thing toward Palestine and, God willing, I will do more, God bless you.”
