Gaza is facing a major humanitarian tragedy embodied in the war of thirst after starvation practiced by the usurping entity, and the tightening noose on the Strip in addition to brutal bombing and targeting of infrastructure.

As if starvation was not enough when the aggression against the Gaza Strip has been continuing for 250 days, for the occupation army to use the weapon of thirst on more than two million people of Gaza.

Obtaining water has become a difficult daily task for the majority of Gazans, and this task seems more complicated for them in the northern Gaza Strip.

The government media office in Gaza issued a statement confirming that “Gaza City is facing a new catastrophe that threatens the lives of citizens after the pumping of water from all wells stopped completely due to the depletion of fuel, and the entire city is experiencing a state of extreme thirst in light of the continued stoppage of water pumping from the Mekorot line, whose work was suspended by the occupation authorities since the beginning of the aggression on the seventh of last October.”

The United Nations coordinating offices previously explained that the fuel shortage forced water desalination plants to close, leaving people struggling to obtain the minimum amount of water to survive.

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the war of Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has left more than “36,801 martyrs and 83,680 wounded, most of them are women and children.”
